  • Gray Dens

    Gray Dens in an indie/alternative band hailing from Orange County, California. After releasing their second EP “Your Eyes Are Like The Mountains”, their track “Tell Me” quickly climbed in streaming numbers, gaining over 15,000 streams in the first month. Tyler leads the audio engineering of the recording sessions and plays guitars and drums on both Gray Dens EPs. Tyler helps to write and record drums and guitar parts on the recorded studio work, and is a permanent member of the group.

  • Tyler Penna

    Tyler has various recordings of his solo musical project under his own name. Tyler is trained in both classical and jazz guitar as well as drums. His songs are all written and recorded by him and blend genres like indie rock, folk and jazz. These self-released recordings can be found on both his Bandcamp and Soundcloud links in the footer of the site or your favorite streaming platform.

  • Deerthrone

    Tyler’s largest project in music production and engineering to date, is the self titled album by Deerthrone. A post rock/math rock indie band from San Francisco, Deerthrone toured and recorded from 2014-2016. Their debut album was recorded at Tyler’s home studio where he engineered and mixed it alongside the band. It was later distributed on cassette tape by Lolipop Records in Los Angeles. Tyler also plays drums on the album and has writing credits on the songs.

  • Podcasting

    Tyler is a host and co-creator of the “What’s Your Record?” podcast, where three friends pick albums the others haven’t heard and discuss them. The conversations range from music theory, to heated debates over who’s pick fit the theme best. This podcast is supported by monthly listeners through Anchor and was started in 2019.

  • Gypsy Blue

    Tyler started a gypsy jazz trio in late 2014 with two classmates from the San Francisco State University jazz department. Featuring Tyler Penna and Cameron Radke on guitar and Ethan Li on accordion, the trio recorded an EP of jazz standards and one original tune in 2014. Tyler recorded and mixed the songs.
